DECATURVILLE MAIN STREET FESTIVAL BBQ Contest
OCTOBER 14-15, 2011
There will be four categories this year:
- Chicken
- Ribs
- Beef Brisket
- Pulled Pork
Judging will be split as follows:
- 25% texture
- 25% presentation
- 50% taste
Cooking may begin Friday Oct.14 at 6:00 PM. Meat will be inspected to be sure it is commercially packaged and not marinated.
Prizes:
$100 and Trophy in each category
$50 2nd place and trophy
Trophy 3rd place
$200 Grand Prize and Trophy

Judging will begin at 1: 00PM with chicken, 1:30-Ribs, 2:00-Beef Brisket, and at 2:30-Pulled Pork. Winners will be announced at 3:00. The entry fee is $25 for one category or $75 will allow you to enter all categories. You may enter as an individual or a team. If you want to sell your barbecue to the public you must notify the event chairperson and pay an extra $25 fee in advance. Can not sell barbecue chicken. Use charcoal or wood only.
